Introduction
MyTrueMatch ("we", "us", or "our") operates a pre-marriage verification services platform accessible via our website and mobile applications. We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of our users in accordance with applicable Indian laws.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and secure your personal data when you avail our matrimonial background verification services.
What We Collect
In the course of providing pre-marriage verification services, we collect several categories of personal data from members and visitors, the scope of which depends on the nature of the service availed and the consent provided by the user.
2.1 Identity and Profile Information
We collect basic identity and profile information including your full name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and marital status, as well as your educational qualifications, professional background, and family details relevant to matrimonial verification. Where you voluntarily submit them for verification purposes, we also collect government-issued identity proof documents such as Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, and Voter ID. Additionally, your mailing address, zip or pin code, and telephone or mobile number are collected for service delivery and communication purposes.
2.2 Sensitive Personal Data
Given the nature of pre-marriage verification, certain categories of sensitive personal data may be collected from you with your explicit, written consent. This includes criminal record checks and court case information obtained through authorised agencies, financial background and credit history, health or medical information if voluntarily disclosed, and religious background or caste details, but only where explicitly consented to for legitimate matrimonial purposes. Such data is handled with the highest level of care and confidentiality and is never used beyond the purpose for which it was collected.
2.3 Verification-Specific Information
In the course of conducting background verification, we collect references provided by you, employer details, address history, and residential verification data. We also collect court and police verification records obtained through lawful and authorised channels. All such information is gathered strictly for the purpose of delivering the requested matrimonial verification service and in compliance with applicable law.
2.4 Technical and Device Information
When you access our website or applications, we automatically collect certain technical data, including your device ID, IP address, browser type, and operating system. We also collect log files, access times, and pages visited. Geographic location data is collected only with your express consent. Cookies and session identifiers are used to enhance your experience on the Platform and are governed by our Cookies Policy set out in Section 9 below.
2.5 Payment and Financial Information
If you establish a credit account or make payments for our services, we collect your billing address, credit or debit card number and expiration date, UPI IDs, net banking references, or tracking information from cheques or demand drafts. This financial information is handled through secure, RBI-authorised payment gateways and is not stored by MyTrueMatch beyond what is required for transaction processing and audit purposes.
How We Use Your Information
MyTrueMatch uses the personal data collected from you primarily to conduct pre-marriage background verification, including identity, criminal, financial, and residential checks, and to deliver personalised verification reports to subscribing members. Your information is also used for authentication, account creation, and access management on the Platform. We use your data to prevent and detect fraud, and to improve our services through data analysis and evaluation of usage trends. With your prior explicit consent, we may also use your contact information to send you marketing communications. We process your data as required to comply with applicable legal obligations and regulatory requirements, and to communicate service updates, results, and relevant notifications to you.
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under Indian law. The primary basis is your consent, which is explicit, informed, and freely given before the collection of any personal or sensitive data. We also process data where it is necessary for the performance of the verification service contract between you and MyTrueMatch. In certain circumstances, processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation, including applicable Indian laws, court orders, or regulatory requirements. Finally, we may process data on the basis of legitimate interests, specifically for fraud prevention and the security of the Platform, balanced carefully against your privacy rights.
Sharing and Disclosure of Information
MyTrueMatch does not sell your personal data to any third party. However, we may share your information in certain defined circumstances described below.
5.1 With Verification Partners
We share relevant personal data with authorised third-party agencies engaged to conduct background checks on our behalf. These include court record verifiers, address verification agencies, and employment confirmation services. All such third parties are bound by confidentiality agreements and are permitted to process personal data only for the specific purpose for which it has been shared and strictly in accordance with our instructions.
5.2 With Law Enforcement and Regulators
We are bound to cooperate fully where required by law or legal process to provide information about a user. Where required or permitted by applicable law, information may be provided to regulators, law enforcement agencies, or courts. We may also disclose information where necessary to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of our members or the general public. We may voluntarily share information with law enforcement agencies, payment gateway service providers, or anti-fraud solution providers if we reasonably believe that a transaction or activity on the Platform is of a suspicious nature.
5.3 Social Login Providers
If you choose to register or authenticate using a third-party social networking platform such as Facebook, Google, or LinkedIn, we may collect the personal data that you authorise us to access through their application programming interfaces. Such collection is limited strictly to the data necessary for the service and is subject to both MyTrueMatch's Privacy Policy and the privacy policy of the respective platform.
How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We retain your personal data for as long as you remain subscribed to our services and for a reasonable period thereafter as necessary for enforcing agreements and resolving disputes, performing compliance audits, establishing legal defences, and complying with applicable statutory retention requirements. Once personal data is no longer required for any of these purposes, it is securely deleted or anonymised in accordance with our data retention policy.
Security
We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organisational and technical security measures. We have implemented appropriate internal control measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process, including access controls, encryption protocols, and regular security audits. Once your information is in our possession, we adhere to strict security guidelines to protect it against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
We are obligated to notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected Data Principals in the event of a personal data breach. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no transmission of data over the internet can be guaranteed as completely secure, and users submit data at their own risk to the extent permitted by law.
Your Rights
You are entitled to exercise the following rights in respect of your personal data held by MyTrueMatch. You have the right to obtain a summary of the personal data being processed and the identities of the processors to whom it has been disclosed. You may request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data and the erasure of data that is no longer necessary for the stated purpose. You have the right to register a complaint with our Grievance Officer and, if unresolved, to escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India. You may nominate another individual to exercise your data protection rights in the event of your death or incapacity. You may also withdraw consent at any time, without this affecting the lawfulness of any processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.

We use cookies to maintain login session information, remember your preferences, and enhance your experience on the Platform. You may also encounter cookies placed by third parties on certain pages of our website; we do not control or take responsibility for the use of cookies by such third parties. Special Provisions for Matrimonial Verification Services

Verification reports are shared exclusively with the subscriber who commissioned the report and will not be disclosed to the subject of the verification without your explicit instruction to that effect. MyTrueMatch does not facilitate, enable, or condone any form of surveillance, stalking, or unlawful monitoring, and all verification activities are conducted exclusively through lawful and authorised channels. Data relating to caste, religion, or community is collected only where you have explicitly consented to its collection for legitimate matrimonial purposes and is never used for discriminatory profiling or any purpose beyond the stated matrimonial verification objective.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data processing practices, applicable laws, or the nature of our services. Material changes to the purposes for which your data is processed, or to our data sharing practices, will be communicated to you via registered email at least fifteen days prior to the effective date of such changes and will be updated on our Privacy Policy page. Continued use of our services after the effective date of any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. Where amendments require fresh consent under applicable law, we will seek such consent from you before processing your data under the revised terms.
